SW-420 Vibration Switch Module

The SW-420 Vibration Switch Module is a simple yet effective sensor used to detect vibration or shock in electronic systems. It’s based on the SW-420 spring-type vibration sensor and an onboard comparator circuit, usually built around the LM393 IC, to provide digital output signaling when movement or shaking is detected.

This module works by sensing mechanical vibrations. Inside the SW-420 sensor is a spring and metal contact. When the module is still, the spring remains in place, and the circuit stays open. However, when vibration or movement occurs, the spring moves and briefly makes contact with the terminal, closing the circuit and generating a signal.

The module operates on a voltage range of ZKEEP0Z to ZKEEP1Z, making it compatible with a wide range of microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP8266, and others. The output is digital – it sends a LOW signal when vibration is detected and HIGH when it’s still.
